Terms of Service
By using Accurate Ruler ("the tool", "the service"), you agree to these terms. They are intentionally short and plain-language — we are a free utility, not a platform.
Accurate Ruler measures in screen pixels and converts to physical units using a PPI (pixels per inch) value. The default PPI is 96 — the web standard — which may not match your actual screen. Measurements are estimates for reference purposes only. Do not rely on this tool for safety-critical, medical, legal, or engineering applications where measurement error could cause harm or financial loss. Always verify with a calibrated physical instrument when precision matters.
1. Use of the Service
Accurate Ruler is a free, browser-based tool provided for personal and professional reference use. You may use it freely for any lawful purpose. You may not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically extract data from the service.
2. No Warranty
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that measurements will be accurate for your specific screen, that the service will be uninterrupted, or that results will be suitable for any particular purpose.
3. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the service, including damages resulting from reliance on measurements produced by the tool.
4. Intellectual Property
The source code, design, and content of Accurate Ruler are our intellectual property. You may not reproduce or redistribute them without permission. The Inter typeface is used under the SIL Open Font License.
5. Privacy
We take your privacy seriously. We do not collect personal data, use cookies, or track you. See our full Privacy Policy for details.
6. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
7. Governing Law
These terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes will be resolved in the jurisdiction where the service is operated.
